Zachary's 9th Birthday

Zachary had a fun birthday.
The night before his birthday we went to Gainesville.
The hotel room we get there is 2 stories.
They serve breakfast and dinner.
He told everyone that smiled at him,
"Tomorrow is my birthday."
We got up in the morning and drove back to Orlando.
We picked up his friend Avery and went to Monkey Joes.
Its a big place with bounce houses and big slides.
We told him he could invite whoever he wanted.
But he only wanted Avery.
When we asked him why not other kids
he said,
"they make my room too messy
and I don't like having to clean up after them."
So just Avery it was, and they had the best time!
We brought along his cards and presents and he opened them there.

After they played for a few hours we went home where I made his favorite meal.
Chicken Nuggets and Shells and Cheese.
Then it was Wii time.

One of the gifts we got him was Mario Brothers.
He has been begging for it for ages.
Avery gave him the Secret Code Book for Mario Bros.
Caleb was telling him the hints while they played.
Since we have been traveling so much, I didn't have time to make him a cake.
But that was ok since he wanted an ice cream cake.
Happy Birthday Zachary!
Make a wish!

Christina went and bought some decorations
for his little party and found  ZACHARY confetti
Birthday King Zachary and his huge slice of ice cream cake.
For another present we got him a gerbil.
She was really cute.
A Russian gerbil.
So he named her Anastasia.
We thought the cage we got her was perfect.
Unfortunately, the cats had other ideas.
In the middle of the night, Einstein figured out how
to get the SCREWED IN ball off and somehow got her out of the cage,
and then they chewed her head off.
Sadly, Caleb found her in the morning.
Both boys were very upset.
I do not think we will get another one for awhile,
and if we do, it will be in a completely different cage.

On Sunday we went to Boca Raton.
The pool was warm. Almost too warm to enjoy during the day,
but the nights were wonderful.
Of course the boys don't care.
As long as they are swimming.
And playing.
We also of course went to the beach.
This beach is great because there is not a single person on it.
Its on a pull-off along A-1A.
The waves are great.
They are rolling waves, and you just bob up and down in them.

Caleb says this is his favorite beach.
We got home yesterday evening.
While I was making dinner,
the boys got online and on my Ipod Touch.
They like my Touch so much that I have to keep reminding them
that its MINE!
Maybe in a few years for your birthday boys, but not yet!!

Ice Skating

We took the kids to a boy scout event at a local ice rink.

I think the boys should of known how to roller skate for this to have had any success.
The event was 4-6. At 5 they decided to run the Zamboni over the ice, so we had to wait 15 min.
Ben is a good ice skater. He can do moves on the ice.

So could Caleb.

It took us a long time before we made it all the way around.

Ben was the only graceful one.

The only safe place to be.

Christina and Ben tried to melt some ice.

This looks so cute.

Right?

Only it was taken seconds before we all crashed into each other.
Poor Caleb got the worst of it with my skate cutting his leg.

After that, Zachary gave up on us, and headed over to Ben.

Ben let Zachary 'ride' with him.

Zachary pretty much just held on and let himself be pulled along.

I think we need to get our rollerblades out and practice some more before we do this again!
And the boys need to learn to rollerblade/skate as well.
