The Keys

On one of the days that we were home, Mike took all three 3 boys golfing.
Lakota only hit one house.
Zachary likes to throw his ball instead of hitting it with a club.
We told the boys to pull out everything that they wanted to bring and put it in the living room.
This way we can see what they brought or forgot before it is packed up.
We're here! Key Largo at the same resort we have stayed at every time we come.
Lets go snorkeling!
The water is so smooth. No waves at all.
And no tar balls or oiled birds or fish either.
These are the two views from our room.
We were hoping for one right one the water, but since this trip was last minute,
we got stuck in the back of the resort.
The private beach the resort has is a wonderful place to snorkel.
We also went to Marathon Key. And Big Pine Key.
The water in these areas are shallow and very warm.
Warmer than what you would take a bath in.

But once you swim out a little bit it cools down and is perfect!

Lakota found a lobster and it was ENORMOUS! We tried to pull it out of its hiding place, but it dug itself down deep into the sand and all we accomplished was breaking off several of its antennas.  They were about 2 feet long! I wish I had a underwater camera to show you that giant!

I love this picture of Caleb.

Zachary took a break to get a drink.
And spill the pretzels.
He didn't know Christina took this picture of him covering up the evidence.
The boys had alot of fun whether in the water, or playing in the sand.
We found several of these.
Smile!
There were a ton of Conch shells. They were neat to look at.
Lakota however decided to bring some home with us.
We had to boil them to get the conch out. Look at how huge that one is!
I would of made conch fritters if I had the ingredients.
He came out of this shell.
Only after we got back and they were cleaning them,
did we find out that it is illegal to take these from Florida beaches.
Oops.  We won't do that again!
We let Lakota take the big conch shell home and some smaller shells.
Something fun to do while you do dishes?
Put dishsoap in your hands and blow bubbles.
We saw this statue of a lobster.  We think it was pretty close to the size of the one we found.
Not really, but ours was very very big!
Our nights were spent at the beach or playing games.
Zachary lost another tooth in the hotel.
Unfortunately when he woke up in the morning, the tooth fairy did not leave any money under his pillow.
He thought she had forgot.  But then he realized he didn't put his tooth under the pillow, he left it on the tv stand.  Sure enough! There was $2 under the tooth next to the tv!
Tomorrow we are leaving for Gainesville for the night. We will be back on Wed for Zacharys birthday, then leaving again Thurs morning for Miami again.
