Our Summer Days

The days we spent at home were spent in the pool.
The boys absolutely loved having Lakota here.
I bet Lakota is going home with some stronger shoulders.
Because he spent most of his time in the pool throwing the boys,
 especially Caleb into the water.
Finally! A picture of Zachary being thrown in!
The weather has been warm.
Low 90's, humidity about 65% so it feels like high 90's to very low 100's.
Theres nothing better in the summer than a pool and a Slip and Slide.
Zachary is going to be 9 in one week.
He wants to go to Monkey Joes.
And all he wants is a particular Wii game (Super Mario Brothers)
or DS game (Mario Kart).
Or gift cards to GameStop.  Thats it.
I hear this every day, all day.
Even Caleb is in on it.
He wants to make sure I get it for him so that
he can spend their saved up money on a new Jet that he wants.
Lakota flew home today, July 14th.
The kids had such a fun time with him.
I have heard half a dozen times already how much they miss him.
"When is Lakota coming back?" "I miss him."
"He was so fun."
"Why couldn't he live here?"
"He could be like our big brother." "I miss Lakota!"
We all had a great 3 weeks with him, and wish he could stay longer.
But he has to get ready for what College he is going to.
He's thinking about becoming a FireMan.
He'd get in shape quick out here!
The wonderful days of summer!

Our 4th of July Weekend.

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July!
Ok, yes, I know.... this is July 14th now.  But we have been gone since July 2,
with only one day at home in between trips.
The other trip I will blog soon. I promise!
We decided to spend the 4th down in Delray Beach.
It is about 3 hours south of us, just north of Fort Lauderdale.
We stayed at The Residence Inn.  We have stayed here several times now.
There was a sand building contest.  Only after we arrived half way thru it, did we see the signs that said anyone could enter, you just had to be registered by 8am. What a bummer!  Most of you have seen the pictures of our past sand sculptors. We could of been real competitors!
They have it every 4th of July, so I think I know what we will do next year!
We have a whole year to practice what we want to build.
The kids put this together in about 5 minutes.  Just think what we could do with 4 hours!
We really enjoyed the vacation.
The firework show was fantastic.
It was on a barge in the ocean.
We sat on the sand and watched the fireworks light up the sky and the water.
Beautiful!
