12 Staples!!

WARNING!!! THE FOLLOWING PICTURES ARE NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART Sunday, Mikey and the boys were playing outback in the blowup swimming pool. They were running around chasing each other. Mikey and Zachary were throwing a big wet beach towel at each other trying to soak the other one. Zachary tossed it at Mikey, then starting running. Mikey tossed the towel back at Zachary. It landed on him, covering his head. The momentum of a heavy wet towel, and his running, caused him to fall forward and hit his head on the screen door metal frame. (this is a reenactment picture)

This is the wound. We took this picture after the nurse rinsed and rinsed and rinsed it.

Then they stapled it shut. TWELVE times! Zachary was sooooooo brave. I can't even tell you how surprised we were at how well he took everything at the Urgent Care Clinic. He cried of course when it happened, but soon stopped. The nurse had to shampoo his head and then rinsed it for about 5 minutes. Not once did he cry. The nurses and Dr could not believe how well he took everything. They had The Incredibles playing on a TV in the patient room, and he just kept right on watching the movie. Other than being cold, he never complained. The reason this post took me so long to write is because I have a 2nd job. Yes, you read it correctly. A 2nd job! The lady I share a station with came over on Friday night with her family for dinner and drinks (we had a great time!) and said she was doing manicures on ladies getting mammograms, and would I like to help her? So I said yes! We work at the salon from 9-3, then head over to Lake Mary and do mini manicures from 3:30 till 7:30 at a Medical Imaging Center. It has been alot of fun! The women come in, and most are nervous, but they get a glass of wine, cheesecake petite fours, mini sub sandwiches, we file their nails, push back cuticles, give them a hand massage, and paint their nails. They also enter a drawing for a big goody bag. I also paint the little pink breast cancer awareness ribbon on if they want (they all do). I guess the new mammogram is a digital one, and nothing like the old one which flattens your breast. So by the time they leave, they have had a mammogram and been pampered. And everyone of them has been wonderful to chat with. Hopefully future clients!

Black Ink & Black Eye

Christina had homework the other night, and it was to describe herself.
I thought she described herself perfectly.

Zachary went to a birthday party at a friends just down the street. In the little gift bags they handed out, was a little rubber stamp. He then proceeded to 'stamp' him and Caleb. The only problem with this? It would NOT come off! They washed, then I washed them, then Mikey washed them, and this is what they STILL looked like! I finally had to get out rubbing alcohol and tried it. It worked! Almost! They still had faint black marks on them until the next days shower. I cannot believe that a KIDS ink toy had such permanent ink. I immediately threw it in the garbage. I can just picture what our furniture and walls would of looked like if I didn't!! In the picture, Zachary was freaking that I would get his privates. I assured him I was not going to. But he still did not want anyone to see his 'boobies!'

Here is a picture of our "new" couch in our bedroom. Our room is so long and narrow (30x14). The couch at an angle makes it feel a little bit more cozy. I am glad Mikey talked me into it.

The weather has been sooo beautiful lately that the kids (all 4 of them) play outside alot more than inside. Last night I was feeding the cats and Nascat came in. He doesn't like to eat with the kittens, so I shooed the kittens out, closed the door and played with him. I thought. Apparently he was very hungry and in no mood to be played with. I picked him up to take him to his bowl and he attacked me. Yes, that is a black eye. How the heck does a CAT give you a black eye??!! He left a deep scratch on my eyelid that immediately bled all over my face. By the time I could clean up the blood and try to open my eye, it was swollen to a small egg size. I put ice on it for awhile. But this is what I woke up to. I cannot ever remember having a black eye, although I know I did as a small child. So tomorrow I will have to put purple eyeshadow on the other eye so I don't look like my hubby beats me. I'm not sure the girls at work really believe me about the CAT!, since they don't know me or Mike well. I tried to assure them that my hubby didn't beat me up, my cat did. Now why does that not seem believable?

Caleb made a mess getting into the Papa Bill Donuts that they sent, and I made a comment about his messies. Next thing I knew, he was sweeping them all up. By HIMSELF! I have taught my boys well, don't you think?

Zebra Stripes and Orange Tigers

Last weekend there was a neighborhood garage sale. So the boys got out their Papa Bill Truck, and Mike and I put on our walking shoes and we went garage sale shopping! The boys brought so many of their own toys, they had no room for new ones. "Darn it."
It was so pretty out . We met neighbors and bought a lamp and love seat for our bedroom.
Christina and her friends went to Homecoming Sat night. She needed to earn the extra money for the after party, so she volunteered her and her friend to sweep and mop the floors.

I won't complain. It got done. Aren't they all so gorgeous dressed up?! Zebra stripes is Christina's favorite pattern. They had a really fun time at the dance. She really does have a great group of friends. WOW! This is a Party! Caleb and Mikey came to see me this week at work and get their hair cut. After we got home, Caleb went in the playroom and played for half an hour. Then I noticed how quiet he was, so I walked in there and found this. He laid down with his 'pets' and went to sleep! Mike had to work in Naples and Fort Lauderdale Wed- today. He left home late Wed evening, so he could get an early start Thurs morning. Zachary was so sad that Daddy had to go to a hotel by himself that he insisted that he take...

BIG ORANGE TIGER with him. So being the good dad he is, Mikey walked into his hotel holding the BIG ORANGE TIGER. Our tadpoles are now almost frogs! Their legs popped out, but they still have tails. I will blog those pictures next time because my phone is refusing to send my pictures to my email.

Report Card Week!

Well, I'm a working girl again. Its actually going OK. Mike takes Zachary to the bus stop in the mornings so I can get ready, then I take Caleb to Preschool at 9. I am only scheduling myself from 930-1130. But most days, since Mike is usually home, I can stay longer, and he picks Caleb up at 12. I have had clients every day, with 2 rebooking! yeah! Ive only worked 10 hours so far this week, but have made enough to pay rent if I had to pay it, plus some! I get 4 weeks free, then 4 weeks at half price. Then we will go from there depending on my income. Everyone there is nice to me, so far! It seems like they are a good group of people.
The Salon is called Clix Hair and Nails. My business is called
Hair & Nails by Corinna.
I have my own business and tax licenses.
I went out yesterday to get the paper and there were so many frogs on our house, I had to run in and grab my phone. By the time I took the picture about half of them had jumped off. Mike got an aquarium for our tadpoles. I cannot believe how big they are getting! Caleb did not like the smell of them when Mike was changing the water. Zachary's favorite thing to do is play Toon Town on the computer. Here he is playing himself (the red cat) and Caleb is playing the blue cat in the den. It is such a cute fun game. I am still addicted to it, although not as much as I was this summer. Now, instead of playing me, I am playing both Zachary and Caleb to get them more points. Zachary would rather play me since my character can go any where on there, while him and Caleb's are still limited. But we drive Mike and Christina crazy because some of the games take a long time to play, and we hog the computers. We still need more computers! 3 is not enough. We each need our own.
Get busy Mikey and build us a new one!! Our kitties are getting big, and into even more stuff. Every morning there are toys scattered around the house, pens and pencils on the floor, toilet paper pieces on the bathroom floor. They have ruined our fake trees by climbing up onto them, and biting the leaves off. This picture is funny because the tiniest one of the bunch is 4 pounds and she wont let Nascat climb up to the top. He is not happy about being on the seat below her. Christina is going to Homecoming Saturday. Since her boyfriend and her broke up she and her girlfriends are all going. Wait until you see her in her dress. Is she 16 or 22? Soccer tryouts are next week, so wish her luck! Zachary got his report card. 1 A, 3 B's & 1 C. We are so happy that he didn't get held back. He really seems to be doing good. Caleb is enjoying his school and is learning to write his letters and numbers quite well. He even has his name almost down pat! Christina has 3 C's, 1 B, 2 A's. She is also a mentor for freshmen. She has spirit week this week and dressed as a rock star. Her outfits have been fun. Monday she was a child. She put on one of ZACHARY'S shirts! What a skinny tall thing she is! There was no school yesterday due to a Rosh Hashanah. And no school Oct 9 because of Yom Kippur. Someone around Seminole County was a prominent Jew, because no other school district in Florida has these days off. So in honor of the holiday I made Matzo Ball Soup and Potato Latkes. The kids LOVED the soup! Both boys had 2 servings. They didn't care as much for the potatoes, but ate it anyway. We had no idea what we were celebrating, or honoring, but the food was good!
