How We Will Spend Christmas

We Are Ready For Christmas. Are You?

Did you see the Lunar eclipse the other night?
This is what it looked like from our back yard.
Speaking of our backyard, Mike and the boys hopped our fence
the other day to go pick up all the balls
that somehow keep getting tossed over.
Or golfed over.
But I don't think they will go behind our fence anymore.
THIS was out back the next day!
A Bobcat!  Eek!
We have so many animals in the forest behind us.
We've seen turtles, deer, armadillos, raccoons,
rabbits, squirrels, boars, snakes, and now a bobcat.
Most likely there are black bears too.
We're not afraid!
As long as the bobcat and bears stay on the other
side of the fence line.

Last Saturday was the annual Boy Scout Parade.
This year since Mike is Den Leader now for Caleb's troop
We got to participate in the parade too.
The boys really enjoyed it and did great at
tossing candy to the bystanders.

Sometimes they did too great .
Several times there were only one or two
people standing by the road,
 yet e.v.e.r.y. single boy would
throw candy at them.

The scouts were the front of the parade and
Santa was in the back.  So after it was over
we were able to stand and watch the rest
of the parade.
Monday night was the Christmas scout Pack meeting.
Rolling up newspapers and throwing them at one another
is in lieu of a real snowball fight.
We are completely ready for Christmas!
The last thing got mailed out yesterday.
Here Caleb is checking the size of the box
to see that it is the same size as his
DieCast car boxes are.
Little stinker, thats exactly what it is.
The boys have shaken, squeezed, tapped,
measured, and counted every
package under the tree.
However, there was one present that was much to big
to fit under the tree or to wrap. (no not the cat)
So we decided to give it to the kids a week early.
But they had to work for it.
We sent them on a scavenger hunt.
They had to solve the clues to find the next spot.

Found it!!
Yay!!!
A 15ft trampoline!!!!
Mike immediately got to work setting it up.

Thank you to Gramma Ginny and Grampa Bill
for helping Mike and I buy the trampoline
for All of Ours Christmas present!
The boys bus driver gave them a little
Christmas candy bag, so they each
 made him a Christmas card.
Then they got busy on the Ginger Bread house
they built with Christina and Ben.

They enjoyed decorating it and
did a great job!
 Yum!
The boys get out of school today until Jan.10th.
Christina has been working a lot of hours this week.
Yay! Christmas money!
She is enjoying her job. She's working behind the counter
getting the food from the cooks to hand to the guest.
at a hamburger restaurant in the Jurassic Park area.
Right now since she is out of school she is working
10:30am-6:00pm.  Thankfully she gets Christmas off!
Santa will be here in a few days!
We are  ready! Are you?

Day at Disney

Thank you to my brother Frank and Dave for giving us
5 tickets to Disneyworld for my birthday.
We finally found the time to go!
We got up early Saturday morning and headed to the parks.
Since the tickets were my birthday present,
I went to the Guest Relations, said it was my bday
and got to wear a Mickey pin that said
"I'm celebrating my Birthday!"
All day long people said "Happy Birthday" to me.
First park we went  to was Animal Kingdom.
This is the big Discovery  Tree in the island
in the middle of the park.
The morning and evening were chilly
enough for jackets and layers.
(I for one had 3 shirts on plus my Mickey jacket!)
The day tho was warm enough for t-shirts.
Caleb was very afraid to go on the Dinosaur ride.
Christina told them to make faces.
I wonder why he was afraid of the dinosaur ride?
See Mike, Caleb and I in the back seat?
Thats how Caleb rode the entire ride.
Twice.
Christina and Zachary are in front of Mike.
Caleb did not want to go on a twirling coaster
so we let Zachary and Christina go on it while
we took Caleb on one more his style.
"I was brave and conquered the flying dinosaur!"
We got fast passes to return to Mt Everest.
That is Zacharys fav ride.
Here the boys and Christina are waiting
for Mike and I to come back with their
cheeseburgers and drinks.
After lunch we went on a safari ride.
We saw hippos, rhinos, giraffes, lions, gazelles,
antelopes, elephants, and tons of other animals.
Then we headed back to ride Mt. Everest.
Caleb was not about to go on it,
so we did the child swap.
Zachary got to ride twice.  First with Christina,
then with Mike and I.
He would of gone a dozen more if we had time!
See Everest in the background?
Its a 3 minute roller coaster thru
Yeti land.
As we were heading out of Animal Kingdom
a parade was on its way so we stopped
and watched.
We headed over to Uncle Owiees restaurant.
He's a chef at the Grand Floridian.
Its a beautiful hotel that reminds you
of  Del Coronado in south CA.
He used his employee discount to
help pay for dinner. He chatted with us
for a few minutes then had to head back to work.
While the boys were waiting for their dinner
they played video games.
This is the inside of the hotel.
It also had gingerbread houses you could
walk thru.
After dinner we headed over to Magic Kingdom.
There we had longer lines and could only ride
 Haunted Mansion and Pirates.
We would of ridden more, but the boys were
getting droopy eyed. And the last thing you want
is to have to carry asleep or sleepy children
across all of Disney, to the monorail and the tram
before getting to the car.  No thank you!
The castle is lit up so beautifully
you just want to stand there and stare
at it while the colors slowly change.
Thank you bro and Dave for the tickets!
We love going there and we had a
WONDERFUL TIME!
If you notice in the pictures that Calebs front tooth is totally crooked,
its because it is.   We are soo happy it is finally out!
