Halloween

We had a great Halloween!
I know I posted a few Zoo pics earlier,
but here are a few more.
Boo At The Zoo!
I wore my Halloween makeup.
But no one else would.
Guess the smell.
Thankfully they were all pleasant smells.
The kids love the water park at the zoo.
Mike, Christina and I loved the freshly made kettle corn.
Yummmm!
What cute kids I have.
Once we got Calebs Halloween costume, Jimmy Johnson,
he rarely took it off.
See him reading? He loves to read!
All by himself, he will pick up a book and read it.
This one is in 3-D.

Halloween time!!
The most funnest (thats not a word? It should be!)
day of the year!
Christina made her costume with an old ghost costume
we had, and some gold jewerly and belts.
This is Ben's sister and her husband Eric.
Christina and Ben went trick or treating as Egyptian Gods.
You may recognize Bens costume as part of  Franks old one.
Mikes face was done with tissue paper and
glue. Then painted.
Zachary was Toad from Mario Bros.
Caleb was Jimmy Johnson.
Their friend Avery came over and trick or treated with them.
They brought the wagon so they could pull
all their goodies around.
They each got a turn.
But in the end, this was the boys ultimate goal.
While Ben, Christina, Nicole, Eric and Ari (Bens little sister)
took Zachary, Caleb and Avery trick or treating,
Mike and I stayed behind and scared
little kids, big kids
and quite a few parents.
I wish we would of taken a video.
Its not as spooky in the daylight.
But once the sun went down.
We were very very spooky.
Some kids were too afraid to come up and
get their candy.
Quite a few came back 2, 3 and 4 times.
Not to get candy, but to see if they could
outsmart Mike and not get scared.
Mike still got them every time!
It was awesome!!
We had scary animal sounds and storms playing in the front yard.
Ghost moans, groans and screams playing inside the house.
Our house was all dark on the inside except
the outside lights were purple,
and my tree inside had purple lights on it.
We had a fog machine and strob lights hidden in
the entrance way.
As the kids came up, they were staring at this guy
waiting for him to jump at them.
Then they would be looking at our Killer Baby.
Then they'd be staring at me because I was
sitting behind the table beckening them to enter.
As they walked in, I asked them if they wanted fresh worms
or candy.  Then I would hold up a handful of worms.
(which was really cooked black squid ink pasta with lots of oil)
Several boys and a few girls said they wanted
worms.  Then they would bravely take a bite of them.
Most thought it was going to be black licorice.
After they tasted the bland flavor they were like
"Did I just eat a REAL worm?"
Then I would say, "no, but you did eat
SQUID INK pasta".
If they didn't freak before, that did it!!
While they were busy looking at worms or getting
candy, Mike was behind the sheets. As they walked past
he would randomly jump out at them.
Most screamed. One even fell all the way to his back.
Then Mike would run around behind the sheets
to the other side. They'd be looking at where he was,
and have their backs to the other side
and he would reach out and grab them, or snarl.
Then they'd scream again.
Sometimes he chased them down the walkway.
It was so fun!
The next day at school,
Zachary and Caleb said that kids were talking
about our AWESOME haunted house.
Just wait until next year!
Yesterday our friend Diane bought us a talking
Grim Reaper whose skeleton lights up.
It gets better and better each year!

Loved the blogs. Wow, you did a great job on Mike's makeup. I would never have know it was him. It sounds like all of you had a great Halloween. Loved the YouTube on the makeup. That was just incredible. Where did you get the idea for it. Loved the pictures of all of you. Zachary is getting so big, and so is Caleb. Miss seeing them. Hopefully we will try to come out next year.

Sorry that Zachary got sick. I'm glad you are taking him to the doctor tomorrow.

We had a good time in San Diego. I will send out a breakdown on the meeting later. After the meeting we went to Sea World. The day was just beautiful. It had rained in the morning; however had stopped by the time we got out of the meeting. By the time we got done with lunch, the sun was shining and it had warmed up. We didn't need jackets until the sun went down that evening. We all enjoyed Sea World, they now have a kid area with a big Jungle Jim to climb on and rides. We went there first, then to the different shows. Didn't make all of them but enough. Elektra fell asleep right after the Shamu show started. For the most part she had walked all day, so was tired. It was so funny when Leonard put her in the car she was saying in her sleep "we will, we will rock you". The theme song for the Shamu show.

On Sunday we went to the beach then over to Nancy and Jose's for a few hours. They had plans for dinner so we visited and then left. We saw a lot of kids Trick or Treating in a neighborhood close to Nancy's so we stopped, and Michelle, Leonard and Elektra went Trick or Treating. It didn't take long for her to fill her bag with goody's. She was Snow White, and of course people were "here have some more". because she was so cute.

Monday after lunch we headed back to Phoenix, and Leonard home.

Give everyone a kiss for me.
